The high cost of beauty

The other night I was feeling quite lazy. We stopped at the Wal Mart after the kids karate class and my husband made the comment that I looked "tired". The truth be told, I went out without makeup - so he pointedly told me to please not do that again! Men!
Growing up my mothers favorite saying was "Powder and paint make you what you ain't!" and as I get older it is becoming more and more of a reality. I'm still amazed though at the amount of money women will spend on their cosmetics and skin care. I was reading the Saturday paper this morning and looking through an ad for a cosmetic company, the prices were easily 3 times that of similar Avon products! Wow! And I wonder what is really in a name? Anything?
Sephora sells a lipgloss that looks pretty darn close to glazewear, only glazewear is $2.99, the Sephora brand was $29! One of the reasons I sell Avon is that it is such a good value, quality products, low price point. Personally I would rather spend my money on a vacation :)

Tuesday Feb. 24th FREE Pancake Day at IHOP

It seems like forever since I have updated my blog :( So here goes - this Tuesday February 24th is FREE Pancake Day at IHOP. They do this each year on Shrove (or Fat) Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday. From 7AM until 10PM you can get a FREE, yes, that's right totally FREE short stack of pancakes at IHOP. There is one on Route 73 in Berlin and also one by the Cherry Hill Mall. This will be our 3rd FREE Pancake Day, the kids really look forward to silly things like this. A month back we stood in line in the freezing cold to get a free Grand Slam breakfast at Dennys!! Why do we do this, probably because we can - I am home with my boys each and every day, hopefully making memories that they will carry with them into adulthood (of their crazy mother dragging them to free food events :))
After breakfast we are headed down the shore to check out our trailer, only a few more months to go until the campground opens up and I can't wait! All of which wouldn't be possible if it wasn't for Avon and the money I am able to make. Times are tough all around, but Avon sells everyday essentials like shampoo, deodorant, soaps, etc, etc. Things we all use, at great prices! - heck we even deliver. Now what could be easier!
